Antionette Atchley Obituary

Antionette "Toni" Atchley, 62, of Macomb, IL passed away at 9:19 pm on Monday November 11, 2024 at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, IL. She was born January 29, 1962 in Frost Town, LA to Nicolas and Florene (Tanner) Slavent. She married Norman "Keith" Atchley in Ft. Myers, Florida. He preceded her in death on January 12, 2024. Surviving are three children, Christy (John) Morgan of Hannibal, MO; Dennis (Heather) Wages of Bushnell, IL; Fred (Tonya Hunt) Wages of Peoria, IL; two grandchildren, Jaylynn and Jesica Morgan; three siblings, Bobby Slavent, Jennifer Brooks and Mark Slavent. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Nick and George Slavent and sister Vicky Honeycutt. Toni worked for many years at Sterling Family Restaurant in Peoria. She enjoyed visiting with her customers and one of her most memorable moments there was meeting and getting to serve President George W. Bush breakfast when he stopped in on his way to give a speech at Caterpillar. She enjoyed watching movies, gardening, and playing with her cat Mia, who she adopted from the McDonough County Animal Shelter. Toni had a strong faith in her Lord Jesus Christ. She made many friends over the years and cared deeply for her friends and family. She will be missed by all who knew her. Cremation Rites were accorded by Martin-Hollis Funeral Home. Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Bushnell Christian Church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the McDonough County Animal Shelter.
