Betty M. Cullen

Betty M. Cullen, 94, of Ft. Madison passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at 6:55 AM at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center Hospice House. She was born on January 27, 1931 in Ft. Madison to Earl and Beatrice Simmons Mattox. On June 20, 1953 she married Thomas Hunsaker and they later divorced. Betty then married Arthur Cullen on May 18, 1985 and he passed away on March 11, 2002. Betty was a homemaker and a faithful member of Holy Family Parish. She loved being outdoors and working on her acreage where she gardened and enjoyed mowing. Most of all, Betty loved spending time with her family; especially her sister Sondra in the past few years. Survivors include her daughter, Lina Dodge of Castle Rock, CO; one son, Bruce (Cindy) Hunsaker of Ft. Madison; five grandchildren, Brian (Vanessa) Hunsaker, Brandi Settles, Breanna (Jordan) Hennigar, Scott (Janessa) Dodge & Erin Dodge; five great grandchildren; her step children, Cheryl Menke of Ft. Madison, Linda Lampe of West Point, Bev Boeding of Wellington, CO, Richard Cullen of Ft. Madison, Ron Cullen of West Point and Jeff Cullen of Johnstown, OH; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur; a brother, Edward Mattox; sisters, Iris Kern, Celia Siegrist and Sondra Bendlage and a son in law, Chris Dodge. Per her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. The memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at 11 AM at King-Lynk Funeral Hoe & Crematory with Rev. Gary Beckman officiating. The family will meet with friends from 9:30 AM until the time of the service at 11 AM. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
