Brett David Lovell

Brett David Lovell, 52, of Avon IL, passed away on August 1, 2024, at his residence. He was born in Galesburg, IL on December 17, 1971, to Janet (Salisbury). In 1976, he was adopted by his father, Clair B. Lovell. Surviving is his mother Janet (Gene)Trout of Burlington, IA, daughter, Ivy Sarah Lovell of Galesburg, IL, three siblings, Olivia (Roberts)Watkins of Lawnside, NJ, Kayla Roberts of Burlington, IA, Matthew (Kourtney) Trout of Pella, IA; six step- siblings, Phil Lovell, Mary Catherine Brown, Cathleen (Lovell) Baucom, Caroline Lovell, Missy (Noel)Danforth, and Jason Trout. One Aunt, Luan (Greg)Olson, of Sycamore, IL, three cousins, Angela (David) Foulk, Katherine (Cody)Salter, John (Anna) Olson, several nieces and nephews. A very special part of Bretts heart was held by his longtime best friend, Kevin Winking, of Monmouth, IL. Brett was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bernard and Lenore Salisbury, step-grandparents, William and Theda Trout, paternal grandparents, Glenn and Belle Lovell. Brett was a 1989 graduate of Bushnell-Prairie City High School, Bushnell, IL. He attended the University of Illinois, Champaign, IL. Brett was blessed with a brilliant mind. He was able to read at age 3, sharing the menu listings with his Grandpa Salisbury at their favorite diner, Western Grill, in Bushnell, IL. They had a very special bond, spending countless hours enjoying each others company! Funeral services will be Monday, August 12, 2024, at Martin-Hollis Funeral Home, Bushnell, IL. Visitation with family will be 10-11am, prior to services. Services will begin at 11am. Following a private family internment at Bushnell Cemetery, there will be a celebration of life gathering at The Storm Shelter, 102 N. Main St. Avon, IL from 12-3pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested by the family to go to his memorial GoFundMe account, set up in Bretts name. All donations will go to supporting his funeral costs.
