Caroline Van Fleet

Caroline Van Fleet, age 94, of Waukesha, WI, formerly of Quincy, died Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at 10:08 am in her home. Caroline was born April 30, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Victor L. and Charlotte Hayes Parker. She attended Western Illinois University. Caroline and her husband Carl moved to the area in the mid 1960's, after purchasing their farm just outside Liberty, IL. She was a long time member of Beverly United Methodist Church and later attended St. Peters Catholic Church in Quincy. Although she was primarily a homemaker, Caroline worked over 10 years in the dietary department at Blessing Hospital. She had a special gift when it came to creating delicious baked goods for her family and friends. Her children have many fond memories of arriving home after school to the smell of whatever cookies, cakes, or pastry, she had baked that day. In addition to baking, Caroline enjoyed sewing and quilting, tending to the flowers and vegetables in her garden, and reading her bible. Survivors include: four children, Kathleen Van Fleet of Waukesha, WI, Charlotte (Kip) Padbury of Quincy, Myrtle (Jeff) Weisenburger of Fowler, IL, and Gary Van Fleet of Louisiana, MO; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Caroline was preceded in death by: her parents; her son, Carl "Butch" Van Fleet; three grandchildren, Adam Weisenburger, Zackary Van Fleet, and Travis James; a daughter in law, Teresa Van Fleet; and her ex husband, Carl Van Fleet. Visitation: 9:00 - 10:00 am, Monday, May 19, 2025 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Services: 10:00 am, Monday, May 19, 2025, at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with Rev. Steve Disseler officiating.
