Daniel Vannier Obituary

Daniel R. Vannier, 74, of Meredosia passed away Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025, at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital. He was born, Nov. 2, 1950, in Decatur, IL, the son of Bernard E. and Lucille Sams Vannier. Surviving are sons, Jason and Brian Vannier of Meredosia; siblings, Bill (Kim) Vannier of Meredosia, Kathy (John) Brown of Venetta, OK, LouAnn Elliott of Jacksonville, and Angie Bill) Kauffman of Bluffs. He was preceded in death by siblings, Jim Vannier, Gloria Teaney, and Doris Vannier. Daniel was employed as a control room engineer for CIPS and Ameren. He was an Army veteran. He enjoyed long distance running and his Boston terriers. Most of all, he loved his family. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025, at the Daws Family Funeral Home in Bluffs with inurnment in the Fairview Cemetery near Bluffs. The family will meet friends from 9:00 am Saturday until time of the services at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer's. Condolences may be left online at www.dawsfuneralhome.com.
