David Jarman Obituary
David Keith Jarman, 90 of New London, MO passed away with his loving wife, Becky by his side at 12:10 PM Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Monroe City Manor in Monroe City, MO.
The family will host Graveside Services with full Military Honors that will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Bethlehem Cemtery, in Monroe City, MO.
Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home of Hannibal, MO.
David was born on November 22, 1934 at home in Hassard, MO to Homer Lee Jarman and Goldie Faye Rouse Jarman.
He was married on September 14, 1963 to Becky Shelburne at the First Christian Church in New London, MO. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons: Mark Jarman (Deanette) of Hannibal, MO, Eric Jarman (Angie) of Hannibal, MO and Scott Jarman of New London, MO; three brothers: Jim Jarman (Alpha) of Monroe City, MO, Phil Jarman of Monroe City, MO and Rouse Jarman of Monroe City, MO; seven grandchildren: Deidra Cole (Coltin), Garrett Jarman, Bryson Jarman (Nicole), Blake Jarman, Braxton Jarman, Joel Smith (Anna) and Drew Jarman; seven great grandchildren: Gunnar Cole, Gavin Cole, Jaci Jarman, Josi Jarman, Krew Jarman, Knox Jarman and Maveryck Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Ray Jarman and one sister, Carol Krigbaum.
David was a graduate of Monroe City High School. He later proudly served his country in the United States Army.
After his time in the service David embarked on a career with Bleigh Construction that spanned over 40 years. David retired as a well-respected foreman with the company, helping to build and oversee the construction of many notable projects in the community, including the National Guard Armory in Hannibal, the elementary school in New London and the Mark Twain Junior High School in Ralls County.
Life's simple pleasures were among David's favorites, like joining his friends at Casey's for afternoon coffee, and going to Friday lunch at the Senior Citizens. An avid gardener, David raised a garden each season and canned his produce with his famous sweet pickles being well known in the New London community. David enjoyed reading, attending auctions with his brothers and watching his grandchildren's sports and activities. Family was always close to David's heart for many years, he loved to take his family each Sunday for dinner and time with family at his mother's house. He also looked forward to the evenings that his grandson, Garrett, who would stop by the house to assist with the garden and join him for dinner. An active member of the New London community, David formerly volunteered with the fire department and with Khoury League Baseball. David will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
