Debbie Klinedinst Obituary
Debra Ann "Debbie" Klinedinst, 70, of Bushnell, Illinois passed away at 2:55 am on Friday July 19, 2024 at the Elms Nursing Home with her husband by her side and daughter Sara. She was born May 28, 1954 in Macomb, IL to Eural "Gene" and Sherrill Jean (Carrison) Webster. She was proceeded in death by her parents, mother-in-law Nina and her brother-in-law Dennis Klinedinst.
She married Donald Klinedinst on March 8, 2003 in Bushnell, IL. He survives. On that special day, she was blessed to add three children, Eric (Kathy) Klinedinst of Fayetteville, NC; Neil (Jennifer) Klinedinst of Bushnell, IL; Sara Kluthe of Macomb, IL. The family grew over the years adding six grandchildren Brittany, Sarah, Brad, Kaden, Justice, and Casey and two great grandchildren Wyatt and Octavia. Along with many nieces and nephews.
Debbie had a very close bond with her three sisters and their children, Terri (Rose Padorke) Webster of Bushnell, IL; Deanna (Steve) Paul of Bushnell, IL; Julie (Aaron) Blout of Prairie City, IL. Her nephews Brandon Smith and Evan Paul and niece Bridjet (Luke) Watson. Great nephews Wesson, Mason, Declan and Gareth.
She Graduated in 1973 from Bushnell Prairie City High and continued her education in Macomb Illinois to become Cosmetologist. She went to work at Western Illinois University and retired after being there for many years.
When she was young, she loved traveling with her family while her father was in the US Air Force. Debbie and Donnie also enjoyed traveling together to see family and friends over the years. One trip they went on to Germany was a dream come true for her returning to where her and her family lived before settling in Bushnell, IL. One of their favorite past times was traveling to play slots at nearby casinos and local establishments. Debbie worked at a casino in Mississippi during her young travels.
Debbie and Donnie were instrumental in getting the Bushnell Freight Depot restored. She had the vision of what it should be like and her, Donnie, and many volunteers put countless hours in of their time. She helped to get fund raising organized for the depot. She was a member and the Treasurer of the Bushnell Citizens Coalition that promoted and organized festivities in Bushnell. Her favorite was Breakfast with Santa and the cute elf that helped Santa was Debbie. She absolutely loved being around children. After breakfast she would go around to other places to spread holiday cheer and to Courtyard assisted living to visit the residents. For all they both had done for the community they received the Key to the City of Bushnell and were the 2018 Grand Marshalls for the Fall Festival Annual parade. She loved cooking, working in her yard, keeping an immaculate home, and hosting family celebrations. She was always on the go helping and caring for others when they needed assistance. She was exceptionally talented at doing needle work making many beautiful gifts. She loved learning the history of Bushnell and her family tree.
Overall, Debbie just loved being around people. Her most favorite times were having all her family together making a lifetime of cherished memories. She will be deeply missed by her family and many others.
Creamtion Rites have been accorded. Memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday July 24, 2024 at the Martin-Hollis Funeral Home with Jim Eddy officiating. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday July 23, 2024 at the Bushnell Train Depot from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. Burial of ashes will be in the Bushnell Township Cemetery.
