Elizabeth Yates Obituary

Elizabeth Slenker Yates, 60, of Center, MO passed away at 1:05 PM, Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Country Aire Estates in Lewistown, MO. Inurnment will take place at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO, 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 12, 2025. Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of the O'Donnell-Thurman Life Celebration Home in Monroe City, MO. Elizabeth was born September 5, 1964, in St. Louis, MO, to Robert Slenker and Dorothy Heimann Slenker. She was married to Robert Yates, May 18, 2007, in St. Louis, MO. He preceded her in death on June 28, 2024. Survivors include her sister, Denise Slenker, brother, Robert (Donna) Slenker, nieces and nephews: Bradley, Brandon, Alyssa (Drew), Austin, Scott, Catherine and great niece, Mila. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, parents and nephew, Ryan. Elizabeth attended Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Center, MO. Elizabeth had a curious mind that found pleasure in the pursuit of knowledge and held a master's degree in nursing and business. She had a love for the great outdoors where she spent time hunting and fishing. Elizabeth's appreciation for nature was also reflected in her love for flowers. Elizabeth loved dogs and she considered them not merely pets but her best friends. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew her.
