Harold Heinze Obituary

Harold Lynn Heinze 68 of Kahoka passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025 in Kahoka. He was born December 12, 1956 in Keokuk the son of Lynn and Hazel Murphy Heinze. He graduated from Clark County R-1 High School with the class of 1975. On April 4, 1981 he was united in marriage to Donna Lewis. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Joshua Heinze (Mary) and Travis Heinze (Barbie), seven grandchildren, Jadden Kellum, Tiarra Kellum, Hunter Heinze, Tyler Hatfield, Erika Hatfield, Layke Hatfield and Jaxson Heinze. his sisters, Mary Montgomery (Kenny) of Lake of the Ozarks, MO, Marilyn Fetters (John) of Kahoka, MO and Maxine Kirchner of Kahoka, MO. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Alan Lewis, Jerry Lewis, Mark Egley, Daryl Egley (Deanna), Mitch Lewis (Mellissa), Diana Egley, Lori Brooksbank (Jimi) and Cora Malone (Terry), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law, Linda Lewis and in-laws, Duane, Sr. and Sara Lewis, two brothers-in-law, Duane Ewart and Ted Kirchner, two sisters-in-law, Beth Lewis and Connie Lindell, one niece, Tabitha Kirchner. Harold grew up farming alongside his father and later worked with Francis Ball. He was the proud owner of Heinze Auto Body for over 35 years until his retirement. Over the years, he was also employed by several local businesses, including Keokuk Steel Castings and working with Delbert Huckey. Harold was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his trade, earning a reputation for quality craftsmanship. An avid outdoorsman, Harold found great joy in hunting and fishing. He especially cherished the time spent outdoors with his youngest grandsons, Jaxson and Hunter, passing on his love for nature and the thrill of the hunt. Harold was also enjoyed stock car racing and could often be found at the track, either behind the wheel or cheering on his favorite drivers. Never one to go anywhere without his loyal four-legged companions, Hubert and Bert, who was his pride and joy. Harold was a man who lived life to the fullest. He had a larger-than-life personality, always ready with a joke or a story to share. Harold was truly the life of the party. A celebration of life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2025 at the former Heinze Auto Body currently Lugnutz 24040 Route 81 Kahoka. Memorials may be made to Kids Vs. Fish.
