Joseph Williams Obituary

Services for Joseph Lewis Williams, 98, of Laddonia, will be at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, October 19, 2025, at Bienhoff Funeral Home in Laddonia, with Pastor Chris Atkinson officiating. Burial will follow at the Laddonia Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Mr. Williams passed away at 6:05 P.M., Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at his home. Joe was born on September 7, 1927, in Audrain County, Missouri, near Molino, the son of Grover and Margaret Hendrix Williams. He married the girl of his dreams and the love of his life, Delores Ruth Dubray, on February 19, 1950, in Perry and she preceded him in death on November 27, 2021. Survivors include one son; Larry (Janet) Williams of Perry, three daughters; Sharon Jo (Rick) Shiverdecker of Fulton, Karen Wellman of Quincy, IL, and Tiffani (Randy) Maxwell of Mexico, one brother; Tom (Judy) Williams of Mexico, seven grandchildren; Ryan Totten, Matt Totten, Zack (Nikki) Williams, Brandon (Amy) Payne, Zane (Amanda) Williams, and Jhett Maxwell, Stacey (Melvin) Linder, four great grandchildren, Jordan (Taylor) Payne, Reed Linder, Maddie Payne and Macy Payne, seven step grandchildren and numerous step great grandchildren, a great great granddaughter coming in December, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Delores, sister Nanette Blundell, son-in-law Kevin Wellman, and infant brother David Williams. Joe attended four years of grade school at Molino and four years at Botts School. He was a graduate of Mexico High School in the class of 1945. Joe served his country in the United States Army being drafted from Audrain County on March 6, 1946 where he would serve in Korea in 1946 and most of 1947. He was a lifelong farmer, often calling himself a dirt farmer and proud of it. After marrying Delores, they made their home on the farm eighteen miles northeast of Mexico. Together they raised cattle, sheep, hogs, chickens, and four kids. Joe was a member of Littleby Baptist Church for more than fifty years. He is a present member of Laddonia Baptist Church for more than twenty years where he has served as deacon, trustee and Sunday school teacher. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and great grandsons. Memorial contributions may be made to the Laddonia Baptist Church or the Laddonia Cemetery in care of Bienhoff Funeral Home, P.O.
