Kary Markey Obituary

Kary Lynn Markey, 45, of Chicago, IL and formerly of Dallas City, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 in Chicago. He was born on September 27, 1979 in Burlington to Michael and Sherry Hupfer Markey. Kary graduated from Dallas City High School in 1998 and Roosevelt University. Kary was an amazing executive chef and personal caterer. He created master pieces for the major events and galas in Chicago, including working for the Obama's and the Food Network. Kary was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. He enjoyed cooking, spending time at Lake Michigan and going on bike rides. Kary had an amazing personality and was loved by all that knew him. Most of all, he had a love and passion for Madonna that was never ending. Survivors include his Mom and Stepdad, Sherry and Gary Milks of Fairfax, IA; two brothers, Dr. Michael (Dena) Markey of East Lansing, MI and Ryan Markey of Wever; nieces and nephews, Ethan Markey, Caitlin Makey, Kayla Watts, Colton and Clayton Markey. He was preceded in death by his Father, grandparents and his brother Cory. Per his wishes, cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A family burial will be held in Gittings Cemetery, Henderson County, IL at a later date. Online condolences may be left at www.kinglynk.com.
