Linda Horton Obituary

Linda (Billings) Horton, age 80, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2025 at her home in New Canton, IL. She was born on February 9, 1945 in Pittsfield, IL to Dale and Lucille (Coates) Billings. She married Larry Horton on June 15, 1963 and he passed away on October 2, 2025. Linda graduated from West Pike High School. She was a homemaker, worked at Fisher Store in New Canton, and managed the New Canton Café. Linda loved cooking and baking and was known for her noodles, pies and cookies. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, and volunteering at the local church. She was loving, a great hugger, funny and supportive. Her family was always her priority and loving on her grandchildren was her joy. She is survived by; daughters, Lisa Horton, Amy (Lloyd) Casto, Jo Akright, and Niki (Dale) Malone; grandchildren, Alyssa (Matt), Lauren (John), Aubrey, Delanie (Ben), Bailey, Riley (Cooper), Caden, and Alexander; great-grandchildren, Lucille, Lillian, Elliette, Leia, Duke, Jaynie, Stevie, and Bowen; and brother, Dale (Linda) Billings. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings. A visitation will be Wednesday, October 15, 2025 from 4:00 -7:00 pm at the Community of Christ Church in New Canton, IL. All other services will be private. Memorials are suggested to QMG Cancer Institute or ACCIS Audrain Co. Crisis Intervention Services. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com. Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry, IL is handling the arrangements.
