Lynnette Smith Obituary

Lynnette Suzanne Smith, 68, of Burlington, died Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at her home.

Born February 9, 1957, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Bernard and Betty Mary Kirkpatrick Smith. She graduated from Burlington High School and attended SCC.

Lynette retired from Champion Spark Plug after working there for about 20 years.

She loved gardening, taking care of her flowers, baking, taking care of her dogs Onyx and Dia. When she retired in 2002 she decided to head out west to Arizona and enjoy winters without snow. Lynette loved to go walking and hiking in the desert and lived there until she moved back home in 2014. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and playing with them.

Survivors include her son, Ruppert Spinks of West Burlington; grandson, Brodrick Spinks of Iowa City; granddaughter, Sephora Spinks of West Burlington; one brother and two sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

There will be no visitation or services.
