Mary Marlene "Sissy" Shuman

Mary Marlene "Sissy" Shuman, 86 of Canton, Missouri passed away Sunday, September 7, 2025 at 2:52 AM at the Lewis County Nursing Home in Canton. The daughter of Bernard and Jane Bronestine Musholt was born on April 15, 1939 at LaGrange, Missouri. She was united in marriage to O.C. Shuman on July 11, 1959 at Canton, Missouri. He preceded her in death on June 15, 1981. "Sissy" was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Arie #1800 both of Canton. She played basketball in high school and liked to attend her kids and grandkids sporting events. She also liked going to Lake of the Ozarks and working in her yard. She is survived by her children, Jeff (Sherry) Shuman, Crystal (Walter) Metz, Mark (Shelly) Shuman and Fletcher (Michelle) Shuman all of Canton, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Zach Shuman, Drew (Kirstin) Shuman, Justin (Lauren) Ellison, Jordyn Ellison (Dustin Chatfield), Trey Metz (Kenzie Guilfoyle), Katie (Kegan) Brown and Jayden Shuman; three great grandchildren, Daxton Ellison, Case Brown and Reid Brown; a sister, Caroline (Dwayne) Gaus of McKinney, Tx; two brothers, Wayne (Maurice) Musholt of Sun City, Fl. and Dan Musholt (Miona Richardson) of Quincy, Il.; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister-in-law, Regina Musholt. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Joesph's Catholic Church in Canton, Missouri with Father Boniface Nzabonimpa officiating. Burial will be in Forest Grove Cemetery at Canton. Visitation will be held Wednesday morning from 10 AM until the time of services at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Canton. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Pallbearers: Zach Shuman, Drew Shuman, Justin Ellison, Trey Metz, Kegan Brown, Dustin Chatfield and Jayden Shuman.
