LuAnn was born on January 18, 1949, in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Otis D. and Sadie E. Robertson Corrigan. She married her late husband, Robert T. Young, on May 15, 2000, in Quincy, Illinois.
LuAnn graduated from Bowen High School in 1967. Over the years, she worked at Motorola, Jack's, Images Offset Printing, and Wal-Mart Bakery in Quincy and General Mills in Hannibal, where she built many lasting friendships with colleagues.
LuAnn found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was a familiar face at the Elk's Hall, where she played Bingo every Thursday, reveling in the camaraderie and excitement of the game. Her passion for the arts was evident in her frequent visits to the community theatre, where she reveled in the magic of live performances. LuAnn's love for animals was profound, and she shared her home with beloved pets Britney, and Bella Rose, while also finding joy in caring for neighborhood cats.
LuAnn's adventurous spirit shone through in her love for travel, with Quartzite, Arizona, and Branson, Missouri, being among her favorite destinations. Closer to home, she could often be found playing slots, watching the Hallmark Channel, or indulging her sweet tooth with a treat. Above all, LuAnn's heart belonged to her family. She was a constant, cheering presence at her grandchildren's sporting events, and she considered them the light of her life. She cherished the opportunity to gather her loved ones for holidays and special occasions.
