Myrtle Rebecca Bent

Memorial graveside services for Myrtle Rebecca Bent, 91, of Farber, will be at 9:00 AM Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Vandalia. Visitation will be from 8:00 AM until the time of the service at the cemetery. Mrs. Bent passed away at 3:04 AM Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Country View Nursing Facility in Bowling Green. She was born on December 24, 1933 in Pike County the daughter of W.H. Johnson and Susie Kerr Johnson. Myrtle Married Edward Lee Bent on March 27, 1953 in New London and he preceded her in death on May 22, 2007. Survivors include one son; Charles Bent of Poplar Bluff, two daughters; Rebecca Suddarth of Vandalia, and Dinah Feldmann of Bowling Green, five grandchildren; Andy Orf, Bernie Suddarth, Garon Suddarth, Ethan Bent and Makenzie Bent, and four great grandchildren; Olivia, Lucas, Briggs, and Birkley. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one daughter Peggy Hulse. Myrtle was a lifetime area resident and member of Farber Presbyterian Church. She was a 1951 graduate of Bowling Green High School and worked for over twenty-five years as an assistant to Dr. Rex Carter. She enjoyed going to the river and racing go-carts in years past.
