Paul David Ericson

Longtime radio personality Paul "Rawkdog" Ericson passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 28th. Paul was a staple to the airwaves of 105.9 KZZK The Grizz, for over a decade. He provided his unique blend of facts and music trivia mid-days. Paul was also part of the afternoon drive show, "The Original Grizzlies". There, he and his on-air partner, Heather, would share humor, sports talk, and daily shenanigans in their unique style. Paul left an everlasting impression on everyone he met, whether at a concert or in the grocery store. His legacy and velvet voice will always live in the heart of the station he loved the most, The Grizz. Paul loved music, whether at home, cruising in his car, in the studio, or best of all, when it was played live. He loved all music, but his true love was rock and roll. Paul loved the Las Vegas (he preferred Oakland) Raiders, The Toronto Maple Leafs, watching wrestling, shows on Bigfoot and eating hot dogs. Paul graduated from Aledo in 1970 and took courses at Quincy Vo-Tech. He initially wanted to be a city engineer but discovered he would have to be good at math, so instead, he chose a path in broadcast radio. He also provided his talents at the other STARadio stations, including his Sunday jazz show on KGRC. Paul is preceded in death by his parents, David E. & Luella Ericson of Quincy. He is survived by his brother Doug Ericson, his honorary sister Heather (Rocky) Ford and numerous cherished family and friends. There will be a private service.
