Penny DeLaporte Obituary

Penny Ann DeLaporte 61 of Hunnewell, Missouri passed away Thursday, September 25,2025 at the University of Missouri Medical Center, Columbia, Missouri. She was born November 08,1963 in Hannibal, Missouri the daughter of Thomas J. and Sharon Ann (Brower) Bastian. Penny was a member of the Monroe City United Methodist Church, Monroe City, Missouri. Penny was a 1982 graduate of Monroe City High School, Monroe City, Missouri. She previously worked for Opera House Antiques, Monroe City. Penny was a Registered Nurse by trade and loved taking care of people. She was a member of the Chart Team Task Force. She loved to do volunteer work and was very active in her community. Penny was a very social person and enjoyed talking and visiting with people. In her free time she loved to Travel. She married David DeLaporte Jul;y 23,1983, he survives of the Home. She is also survived by one daughter Laura DeLaporte Harrison (Jason) of Monroe City, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Katherine Miller and son-in-law Christopher Miller. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, October 1,2025 at the Garner Funeral Chapel, Monroe City. Burial will follow at the St. Jude’s Cemetery, Monroe City. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am Wednesday until time of services at the Garner Funeral Home & Chapel, Monroe City. Pallbearers will be Roy Smith, Jesse White, Justin Deming, Cory Losey, David Powell and John Lierly. Memorials have been suggested to the American Diabetes Association. Garner Funeral Home & Chapel are in charge of arrangements. Online condolences can be made at garnerfuneralchapel.com.
