Robert Hempen Obituary

Robert Eugene Hempen, 77 of Keokuk, IA passed away Friday, September 12, 2025 at Montrose Health Center in Montrose, IA. He was born on June 19, 1948 in Keokuk, IA to Roger and Louella (Blaise) Hempen. He graduated from Keokuk Senior High School in 1966 and was a graduate of Northeast Missouri State College (now Truman State) in Kirksville, MO. Robert was a proud veteran of the United States Army and proudly served his country. Survivors include two sisters, Lori (George "Nick") Bloom of Montrose and Cindy (Mark) Stanley of Keokuk, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Hempen, his mother and step-father, Louella and Merlin Loeschen, one brother, Roger Hempen and one sister, Connie Martin. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Vigen Memorial Home. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Robert's neighbors, Brian and Megan Kinkeade and Charlie Biddenstadt and family, whose generosity and friendship meant the world to Robert. Your acts of kindness will always be remembered. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
