John M. Hickey

John Michael Hickey, 60, of Mahopac, NY, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on July 26th, 2025.
John was born on October 1st, 1964 in the Bronx, NY to Eugene and Jeanne (Barrett) Hickey. John and his family moved to Mahopac in 1973 where he attended Lakeland schools before embarking on his career with the New York City Plumbers Union Local #1. He served in many roles including Journeyman Plumber, President of the Executive Board, and Business Agent. John was also a proud member of the New York City Sandhogs Local #147.
John was a devoted and loving father to his son Brian and daughter Kimberly (married to Denis O'Regan). John was a cherished companion, best friend, and loving husband to his wife, Francesca Mulone. John was previously married to Christine Hickey, with whom he shared his children and many family memories.
John is predeceased by his brother Terry and survived by his siblings, Mary, Eugene, Neil, and Andrew. John will be fondly remembered for his immense generosity and dearly missed by many relatives of the Hickey, Barrett, and Mulone families as well as countless friends and colleagues. John loved spending his time enjoying classic cars, listening to his favorite classic rock bands, and supporting his favorite New York sports teams.
Visitation for John Hickey will be held at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home in Mahopac, NY on Tuesday, July 29th, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Wednesday, July 30th, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church in Mahopac, NY on Thursday, July 31st, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Ballard-Barrett Cemetery in Mahopac, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's memory to the St. John the Evangelist Church food pantry or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
