Steven Climer Obituary

Steven William Climer, 74, of Carthage, IL, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at his home in Carthage. Steve was born on December 21, 1950, in Carthage, IL. He was the son of William and Ethel (Leasman) Climer. Steve graduated from Carthage High School in 1968. He went on to work many jobs throughout his life. Steve retired from Mississippi Blending in Keokuk, IA, after over 25 years of service. He liked to go fishing and camping with his family. He enjoyed watching westerns, especially Walker Texas Ranger. Nothing was more important to Steve than his family. He enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. Steve is survived by his mother, Ethel Fellinger of Quincy, IL, his siblings, Jeff (Susan) Climer of Carthage, IL, Glenda Whitcomb of Burnside, IL, Curtis (Julie) Climer of New London, IA, his significant other, Lucinda John, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, William Climer, and his brother-in-law, David Whitcomb. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Monday, September 8, 2025, at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage with burial to follow at McKay Cemetery near Burnside, IL. A visitation will be held prior to the service starting at 12 pm. Memorials may be made out to Heart Care at HSHS St. Johns Hospital or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
