Virginia Keys Obituary

Virginia L. "Ginny" Keys, 68, of Hannibal, MO, passed away at 3:20 AM, Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Maple Grove Lodge in Louisiana, MO. There will be no services. Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO. Ginny was born August 3, 1956, in Hannibal, MO to Wilbur Lee Willett and Virginia Lee Yarbrough Willett. She was married to Howard Richard Keys Jr. on July 7, 2007. in Eureka Springs, AR. He survives. Other survivors include her two children, Allison Ehret (Jimmy Petsel) of Columbia, MO, and Joe Ehret of Hannibal, MO; and granddog, Frida. Ginny was preceded in death by her parents; and her second husband, Marion Leon Layton. Ginny loved Hannibal and learning the history behind the small river town. She enjoyed afternoons spent downtown by the river, watching the riverboats and strolling Main Street. Doing crossword puzzles and playing the piano were two of Ginny's favorite hobbies. Ginny was a huge fan of Elvis, visiting Graceland was one of her most treasured memories. Most of all, Ginny cherished the time spent with her family and will be missed. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hannibal Nutrition Center or Northeast Missouri Humane Society.
