Yeya Rubison Obituary
Yeya Rubison, 68, of Shelbina, MO was broken free from her earthly bounds to be fully restored by her Savior on Thursday, October 30th at 9:30 a.m. surrounded by those she cherished and loved.
On October 8, 1957, Aurelia Nanette Pruden was born to Elzie Howard and Laura Santos Pruden. She was known to all as "Yeya", a lifelong nickname that she inherited from her aunt and was as unique and beautiful as she was.
On June 27, 1975, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, she married Dan Matthew Rubison. They were two young kids with big dreams and as Dan would say, "we didn't have two nickels to rub together." With hard work, dedication, grit, faith, and love and maybe a little bickering, the two prospered and raised their three children. Their life's journey saw them farming, coal mining, hairdressing, mechanicing and raising their kids to know a strong work ethic, the value of honesty, and the importance of faith and family. Having Joseph Matthew (Casi), Tara Nicole (Matt) and Kimberly Diane (Mike) all of Shelbina close has been a tremendous joy in getting to watch their grandchildren grow.
Grandma kept Grandpa busy carting her around to all the grandchildren's many activities. In words written by Grandma: Grandkids are special and so lucky are we, to have them close to share and see. So many moments, some happy, some sad but no matter the mood, none are bad. With smiles and hugs for them or me. It brings such pride when you watch them be. The center of Grandma's world were Marisa Jo, Emmett Victor, Shelby Jeanette, Callie Nicole, Isac Flynn, Jace Matthew, Grant Eli, Peyton Breann, Myra Danielle, Skyler Rachelle, Kade Robert, Evyn Geraline and two baby Buckman angels.
Yeya is survived by her husband Dan, children, and 11 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws Cap and Ola Rubison, her brother Carmen Pruden, sister-in-law Donna Pruden, brother-in law John Rubison, niece Julie McEwen, grandson Isac Flynn and two Buckman grandbabies. She is also survived by sister-in laws, Connie Rubison and Becky Novinger who shared a bond with her as close as any blood born sister would. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Her role of Aunt was one she cherished. She had a special bond with each and every one of them and loved them very deeply.
The magical mother and grandmother that she was created memories that her grandchildren will hold on to for the rest of their lives.
