Donald Perry Obituary
Donald Perry, 69, longtime resident of Atkinson, NH, died Tuesday, December 17, peacefully at home after a long battle with pulmonary lung disease. Don was born on January 15, 1955, in Everett, MA, to Roger and Claire (Hill) Perry. He graduated from Lynnfield High School and East Coast Aero Technical School in Lexington, MA. He met the love of his life, Coleen (Kennie) Perry, while attending school and working at Beverly Airport.
After graduation, Don spent one year in Wichita, Kansas, maintaining Boeing aircraft. He returned home several times to visit Coleen, and Coleen was able to make the trip out to visit him and attend some legendary hangar parties. After a year, Don returned home to Massachusetts to continue his relationship with Coleen. They took a van and motorcycle across the country before they were married. They were married for 47 years. Don worked as a Volvo Master Technician at multiple Volvo dealerships in the area for 30 years before starting his own business, DP Auto in Hampstead, NH. He loved football and watching games with his family. A gentle spirit, Don loved to laugh and tell a joke, especially at someone's expense.
Don most enjoyed spending time with his wife and family traveling and spending time outdoors, camping, boating in the lakes of Maine and New Hampshire and off the Gulf Coast of Florida, fishing, swimming in his pool in Florida, and skiing. A carefree man who liked to relax and enjoy life, Don spent years camping on Long Lake in Maine and enjoying everything the NH White Mountains have to offer. He loved spending time at his condo in North Conway, NH. Along with his parents, Don was predeceased by his brother David Perry, wife Kathleen Perry and niece Melissa Smiley of Florida, and his sister Donna Smith and husband Paul Smith of Derry, NH.
Along with his wife, Don is survived by his daughter Kristen Chevalier and husband David Chevalier; his son Kenneth Perry and wife Kristine (Maslauskas) Perry of Franklin, MA; his grandchildren Charlotte, Theodore, Danica and Genevieve; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
