Donald Savage Obituary

HAVERHILL – Donald J. Savage, 91, of Haverhill, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025 at the VA Hospital in West Roxbury, MA. Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Richard and Mildred (Ronan) Savage. He attended St. James High School, Class of 1953. Soon after graduation Donald enlisted in the US Navy where he proudly served during the Korean conflict; and after his discharge, he worked in several manufacturing jobs until his retirement. Donald is survived by his wife of 46 years, Helena (Suszyna) Savage, who he met at the Polish Club, and despite the language barrier they spent many wonderful years together. He also leaves behind his sister Marie (Savage) Campbell of Amesbury, brothers John and CeCe Savage of Dover, NH, Daniel Savage of Seabrook, NH, and Robert Savage of Salisbury Beach, MA; two step sons Jacek Lopusiewicz of Poland, and Derek and Mellissa Lopusiewicz of Derry, NH; and several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Kathleen (Savage) Meeks. ARRANGEMENTS: A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 4th at 10AM at St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish at St. James Church, Winter Street, Haverhill.
