Ellen Wrightson Obituary

METHUEN – Ellen T. Wrightson, 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at the Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre in Methuen. Ellen was born in Worcester on June 25, 1940 to George F. Teresa E. (Cooney) Wrightson. She was a graduate of Turners Fall High School, Class of 1958, and then went on to get her teaching degree from the University of Massachusetts, Class of 1962; after which she worked for the Haverhill School System from 1964 until 1993 as a Special Needs Teacher for grades K-8. Ellen and David were very supportive of each other's hobbies in retirement. Ellen spent much of her time on her photography, specializing in seascapes. From 1991 until 1998 she displayed and sold many of her photos at the Artist's Gallery in Ogunquit, ME; and for six years she displayed many of her photographs in the big conference room at the Chamber of Commerce in York, ME. Ellen is survived by her loving partner David Bontempo of Methuen. She also leaves behind her nephews Michael Mullaney of Boston, and John and Karen Mullaney of Amston, CT, and her niece Mary Mullaney and Ralph Mossman of Driggs ID, her great niece Hannah, and great nephew Dan. She was predeceased by her sisters Joan Mullaney and Carol Young.
