Haverhill: Janet Marie (Payette) Daly, age 88, of Haverhill, MA passed away on August 5, 2025, at home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Haverhill, MA on May 29, 1937, the eldest of three daughters, to the late Camille and Bertha (Pullen) Payette. A lifelong resident of Haverhill, she attended Saint James Grammar School and was a member of the Saint James High School Class of 1954. Janet was also a former member of the Saint James Ladies Sodality.
She was an active member of the Haverhill Women's Club and had volunteered for many years at All Saints Parish and Saint James Parish. She was a former member of The Haverhill Historical Society and the Telephone Pioneers of America.
Janet was one of a handful of female security guards at Western Electric (ATT/Lucent Technologies) for many years and retired in 1998 after twenty-one years of service. She also previously worked as a teller at Whittier Co-Operative Bank, here in Haverhill.
Janet loved traveling, especially cruising and was able to visit many European countries. She enjoyed day trips and would always jump at the chance to head to one of the local casinos. She and her husband were members of a motorcycle touring group known as The Retreads. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she most enjoyed the times she spent with her family for holidays, special events and dinners together.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard L. Daly, in 2011, son, Steven R. Daly, in 1969, sister, Claire E Payette, in 2009, and grandson, Richard Johnson in 2023. Janet will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughters, Susan M Johnson and her husband, Steven, of Lake Wales, FL, Donna Koed, of Myrtle Beach, SC, and sons, Donald J. Daly and his wife, Julie, of Haverhill, MA and Richard J. Daly and his wife Amy, of E Hampstead, NH; and her sister, Jane Culbert of Salem, NH. In addition, she leaves ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins
Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH. Her funeral will begin on Saturday, August 9, at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Saint James Church of Saint Gabriel Parish, Winter St., Haverhill.
