I had the honor of caring for Marcia as a nurse. Even after I left my employment with Amedisys, Marcia would always reach out to see how I was doing and I her. She was no longer my patient; she was my friend. Sometimes when I would go see her, it didn't feel as if I was there to care for her. It felt as if I was there to visit her as a friend. Although Marcia was serious, she sure could make me laugh. Marcia and I texted often, and she made it a point to text me every holiday. I started to get concerned when she didn't text for July 4th... It was than when I realized my worst fear. Marcia was a wonderful friend that I had the honor to know. She loved her family so much and was especially excited to welcome her great grandson Joel. My thoughts and prayers go out to Marcia's family... May she rest in peace...
