Patrick Oddy Obituary

Patrick H. "Pat" Oddy, 68, died suddenly on Monday, July 15, 2024 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Deborah (Shaw) Oddy with whom he shared 43 years of marriage. He was born in Saranac Lake, New York, on December 29, 1956 and was the son of the late Nathaniel and Patricia (Duffy) Oddy. Pat was raised and educated in Saranac, New York. He was a graduate of Saranac Lake High School, Class of 1974. Pat attended North Country Community College in NY, Southern New Hampshire College in NH, and Northeastern University in MA where he earned a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science. He was employed as a Principal IT Analyst at Tufts Medical Center in Boston and at Beth Israel Lahey Health - Exeter Hospital as Senior Principal Analyst for the past 11 years. Patrick was an avid coin collector and was always on the lookout for a star note and a wheatie. He was passionate about his golf game and enjoyed the friendships he gained along the way. Pat was member of the Portsmouth Country Club. We are not sure which he loved more; Golf or Football. He played it, coached it and shared his passion for Football with his dad, sons and friends. He is also known as "Sideline Dad" from his sons in all sports. To know Pat, you needed to appreciate his corny jokes, huge sense of humor, boisterous laugh and love for his family, especially his "baby girls". He had a deep respect for his friendships and caring of others. Besides his wife, he is survived by his son Matthew and his wife Jamie of Newton, NH, his grandchildren Everly and Maisie Oddy, his brothers Tom Oddy and his wife Meg of Grantham, NH, Kevin Oddy and his wife Jenn of Saranac Lake, NH, and Dennis Oddy and his wife Christy of Littleton, CO, his sisters, Peg Cantwell and her husband Barry of Saranac Lake, NY, Mary Diefenbacher and her husband Donn of Marcy, NY, his mother-in-law Barbara Shaw of Burlington, MA, his brother-in-law Jeff Shaw and his wife Janet of Waltham, MA, his sisters-in-law Stephanie Sanders and her husband Tom of Waltham, MA, and Katrina Marsala and her husband Chris of Billerica, MA. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins. Pat was sadly predeceased by his son Nathan Oddy and his father-in-law Donald Shaw. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, July 22, 2024 from 4pm-7pm at the Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home 116 Main St. Plaistow, NH. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery, Plaistow, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Patrick's honor to Camp Lincoln YMCA, 67 Ball Road, Kingston, NH 03848.
