Robert Dube Obituary

Plaistow, NH: Robert P. Dube, Sr.,91, passed away on August 26, 2025, at his home in Haverhill with his family by his side. Born to Laura (Arsenault) Dube and George Dube Sr. on December 30, 1933, Robert was one of eight children. He was raised in an era and home where things did not go to waste. Food didn't get thrown away. If something was broken, you fixed it. He carried those values with him his entire life, helping family and friends do the same Throughout his ninety-one years, he worked hard. In 1960 he and his brother Joe opened Dube's Garage, a business he took great pride in. Bob knew his way around an engine. Aside from his RV, he owned and raced cars at Pines Speedway and Hudson Speedway and owned tow trucks. He also had a pilot's license and owned an airplane, flying to many parts of New England. But his favorite by far was his fishing boat: "The Janet Marie", named after his wife. He forged many wonderful friendships; Romeo, Paul and Jamie to name a few favorites, at the marina in Newburyport MA and caught some memorable tuna. After retiring Bob and his beloved wife, Janet, set off on a road trip to celebrate and see the country in their motorhome. They enjoyed country dancing together and playing "45s" with his sister Pat and her husband Chuck. One wish he had was to pass peacefully in his Haverhill home, the same place he was born. Thanks to Pacific Hands and his favorite nurse Julie, Beacon Hospice and his loving children, he got his wish. Bob was "Dad" to seven children, and "Pepere" to twelve grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. He was also a loved brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He will be greatly missed by sons Robert P. Dube, Jr. and his partner Donna Hayward, Gary Dube and his wife Janet, Randy Dube, Dana Dube and his wife Felicia, Kevin Dube and his wife Stefanie, daughters Cheryl Dube and her friend Roger Thibodeau and Becky Quinney and her husband, Thomas; brothers George, Jr., Joseph and James and his sister Patricia. He was predeceased by his wife, Janet, brother Laurent and sisters Lorraine and Pauline. Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours to be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. His funeral service will follow at 7:15 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. I remember as a little girl going to the Pines Speedway and watching Bob race in the Class "B" division. It was great fun . The,, many years later, Bob and Joe fixed a transmission in my car on Luraler Ave. Very kind people, who helped everyone. Rest in peace. I am very sorry for your loss .
