Rose Carter Obituary
On July 21, 2025, Rose Marie Carter passed away at the age of 79 at The Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, Massachusetts after a long battle with Dementia. Rose was born March 2, 1946, in Haverhill, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Joseph A. and Laura (Warner) Valliere.
Rose grew up in Haverhill, Massachusetts and attended Haverhill public schools and she was a 1964 graduate from Haverhill High School. Rose possessed incredible cooking skills that served her well as a chef working for the Lennox Nursing Home in Bradford, Massachusetts, Rose then later went on to become the Food Service Co-Ordinator at the Merrivista Elderly Housing Complex in Haverhill, Massachusetts, from which she retired after many years of devoted service.
One of Rose's passions was knitting, and she was well known for her quilts that she would make for other members of her family, she also loved to take rides with her husband along the scenic coasts of New Hampshire and Maine. One of her greatest hobbies was antiquing, she and her husband were always on the lookout for the next great item, Rose had a passion for music, and she loved singing and was gifted with a beautiful voice. Rose was the wife of John D. Carter with whom she shared 46 years of incredible love, they were married on August 9, 1985, and would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this year.
Rose is survived by her husband John, and their children, Lisa M. Thiboult and her boyfriend Jeff Landers of Bedford, N.H. Ella L. Poisson and her boyfriend Jeffrey Kiefer of Groveland Ma., Paul W. Poisson and his wife Kristen Poisson of Hopedale, Ma. David J. Carter and his wife Rachel Carter of Haverhill, Ma. Rose also leaves her brothers AlbertJ. Valliere and his wife Cynthia Valliere of Harrison Tennessee, Corey Valliere of Epping, N.H. two sisters, Susan E. Anderson and her husband David Anderson of Chester, N.H. Barbara E. Ingham of Haverhill, Ma, Rose was predeceased by her brothers Peter J. Valliere and Frederick Valliere. Rose is also survived by several grandchildren and nephews and nieces.
