Sally Lyon Obituary
LAWRENCE – Sally Ann Lyon, 81 of Lawrence, MA passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill, MA. Reuniting with the love of her life, Roger Wrenn Lyon and their son Roy Albert Lyon. Her husband of 55 years, passed in February of 2022 and their son passed in October of 2014. Not a day went by where she didn't miss them both terribly.
Sally was born on Leap Day 1944 in Munice, Indiana. Her late parents Albert Adair and Roberta Louise (Bacon) Arbogast and late brother David Albert Arbogast were overjoyed as it is recorded for her to have such a marked birthday. As she got on in years, she came to appreciate and find joy in being younger than three of her grandchildren.
Sally moved with her family from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan to the Pine Arden neighborhood of West Boylston, Massachusetts in 1960. In 1962, she graduated from Chapel Hill Girls boarding school in Waltham MA. Sally earned a nursing certificate from Worcester City Hospital Nursing school. She worked briefly at Holden Hospital before marrying Roger at the First Congregational Church West Boylston on September 16, 1967. They settled in Oakdale/West Boylston where they raised their family.
She had a strong appreciation of music and was a member of many choral groups and bell choirs. One of her proudest moments was helping to launch and be a member of the First Congregational Church of West Boylston Bell Choir in the mid 90's traveling all across Massachusetts. In her later years, she again traveled around the state as a member of the Methuen Senior Center, Happy Hearts Choir. She loved camping, probably from being a Girl Scout and Campfire Girl in her childhood and grew to love bowling as much as her husband, earning many medals on her own merits.
Sally is survived by her daughter Ruth Ann Sullivan and her husband Sean Sullivan of Montpelier, VT, son Fredrick Harold Lyon of Lawrence, MA, daughter-in-law Julie Lyon of Brookfield, VT and grandchildren Sean Sullivan, Erin Ann Sullivan, Seth Albert Lyon and Trevor Anthony Lyon.
