Susan Kirstein Obituary

Susan Paula Kirstein, 78, of Ipswich, MA, passed away on August 26, 2025, at Ledgewood Rehab and Nursing Center in Beverly, MA. She was born in Hartland, ME, on June 26, 2025, daughter of the late Max and Miriam (Ackerman) Kirstein. Susan lived on Buttonwood Lane, near Chandler's Ice Cream, in Peabody. She met Buzz (Bernard) Belle, of Marblehead, and spent many date nights at Maddie's, at the beach or on the boat. In 1980, they married at Abbott Hall in Marblehead, followed by a celebration at Anthony's Pier 4 in Boston. Susan enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and doing daily crossword puzzle. Later, Susan and Buzz moved to Boxford, to be near their daughter Vicky , her husband Randy and granddaughters – Jackie and Shauna. Susan had gone to BU to be an early education teacher but left that career to be a flight attendant with Delta Airlines – which she loved! Many of Susan's lifelong friends were from her Delta days. Susan did return to teaching, after retiring from Delta, at her granddaughters preschool – Trinity Church in Topsfield. Her survivors include her stepdaughters, Victoria Belle and her husband Randy Emmons of Ipswich, Susan Tamara Belle of Galloway, NJ, granddaughters, Jacqueline Emmons of Boston, MA, Shauna Emmons of Somerville, MA, sister Dianne Greenstein and her husband Steve of Carolina PR, nephews, Gary Greenstein of Israel, Ricky Greenstein of PR, Randy Greenstein of Boston, MA, much loved cousin Dale Blank of Peabody, MA, the late Merilyn Edelman and many other close cousin and friends. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Homes, Bradford ~ Haverhill. Contributions in her memory may be made to donors choice.
