Thomas Dorsey Obituary

SALISBURY, MA – Thomas M. Dorsey, 73, of Salisbury, formerly of Haverhill, passed away on Sunday, December 1st at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport. Thomas was born in Haverhill the son of Thomas and Ann (Hayes) Dorsey. He was a graduate of Cardinal Cushing Academy and then went on to study at Northern Essex Community College. Tom enjoyed all sports but his passion was baseball, starting from a very young age. He was a phenomenal pitcher and played on Little League, Pony League, Haverhill Hillies and Cardinal Cushing while in High School. He had been scouted by the Yankees, while in High School. Thomas is survived by his daughter Sarah Jane Dorsey and her husband Peter Serrano of Lawrence, MA, his lifelong partner Anne Mary (Sullivan) Dorsey, and his sisters Maryanne and Ron Scatamacchia of Haverhill, Suzanne and Paul Fici of Haverhill, Joan and Phil Collins of North Hampton, NH and Katherine West of Haverhill. He also leaves behind grandchildren Dylan Zalanskas, Jason Sorey, and Giovanni and Jayden Serrano as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his niece Katie West. ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, December12th from 4PM until 6PM followed by a funeral home chapel service at 6PM at the Kevin B. To me, you were a presence larger than life—unshakable, strong, and full of a rare kind of authority that commanded respect without asking for it. You were someone I was proud to call my godfather, a role you filled with both strength and heart. Rest well, knowing you will never be forgotten.
