Tobe R. Alperin, 80, of Rotonda West, Florida, and formerly of Groveland, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 10, 2025.
He was born in Haverhill on June 8, 1945, the son of the late Louis and Ruth (Levitan) Alperin.
Tobe was educated in the Haverhill School System and graduated from Haverhill High School with the Class of 1963. He went on to earn his bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1967. Following his education, he proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard.
Tobe built a long and distinguished career in real estate, working as a successful and highly respected realtor for 50 years. Known for his professionalism, integrity, and warm personality, he earned the trust of clients and colleagues alike. Tobe thrived in the competitive real estate industry and took great pride in mentoring many realtors who continue to practice today, including his son, Todd. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Tobe gave back to his community as an elected member of the Town of Groveland Housing Authority, where he was dedicated to ensuring quality housing opportunities for residents.
A lifelong automobile enthusiast, Tobe found great joy in maintaining and caring for his vehicles. He proudly owned several sports cars and especially loved taking them out for drives during the summer months.
After fulfilling his dream of retiring to Florida, Tobe embraced the relaxed lifestyle of the Gulf Coast. He enjoyed spending time on the beautiful beaches, cycling along the nature trails near his home, and forming lasting and meaningful friendships with his neighbors in the Fiddler's Green community. His kind heart, sense of humor, and easygoing nature quickly made him a beloved member of the community.
Above all, the greatest joy of Tobe's life was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose love and pride were evident in all he did. Nothing brought him more happiness than his three grandchildren, whom he adored beyond measure. Tobe delighted in watching them swim, play soccer, field hockey, basketball and compete in track and field. His laughter, encouragement, and presence at their events will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
Tobe was also a passionate supporter of Boston sports, following the Celtics and Patriots with unwavering enthusiasm throughout his life.
He was predeceased by his brother, Howard Alperin.
