Alma L. Winans

QUINCY -- Alma Laverne Winans, 90, of McKinney, Texas, formerly of Quincy, passed away Dec. 30, 2015, at her home.

She was born March 28, 1925, to Joe and Sadie (Greathouse) Yackley in Pittsfield. Alma married Vinton Winans on March 1, 1943. He preceded her in death May 4, 1967.

She was most recently a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in McKinney, and formerly a member of Central Baptist Church in Quincy, where she had served as a deaconess. She was employed as a home health care aide for many years by Blessing Hospital in Quincy, and in North Texas by Dove Home Health Care and Farmington Home Healthcare, where she was named Employee of the Year in 2006.

She is survived by her three daughters, Pamela Bouldin and husband Rodney of Williamsburg, Va., Cheryl Clarkson and husband Charlie of Southlake, Texas, and Yvonnie Chmielewski and husband Carl of McKinney; nephews, Dwight Yackley of Naperville and Dwayne Yackley of Pittsfield; grandchildren, Kate Clarkson Afshar of Del Mar, Calif., Charles Clarkson of Denver, Colo., Kristen Bouldin of Williamsburg, Va., Jenna Chmielewski of Dallas, Texas, Briana Chmielewski of Calabasas, Calif., and Kyle Chmielewski of McKinney; and great-granddaughter, Sara Afshar.

In addition to her husband, Alma was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Lyndle Yackley.

SERVICES: 2:15 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at Greenmount Cemetery. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

VISITATION: 1:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
