Andrew FERGUSON Obituary

KAHOKA, Mo. -- Andrew Washington Ferguson, III, 52, of Kahoka, died unexpectedly Friday (Nov. 20, 2009) at his home. Andrew was born Oct. 21, 1957, in Quincy, Ill., a son of Andy and Lila Butler Ferguson. Andy completed his education in Meridian, Miss. In his teens and early 20s, he participated in and won many sanctioned motocross races throughout the United States. He never lost his love for racing. He enjoyed motorcycle races and was an avid NASCAR fan, particularly of No. 99, Carl Edwards, who was his favorite. Andy was retired from Dial Corp. in Fort Madison, Iowa. He worked for Dollar General in Fulton and was also a guard at the Fulton State Hospital. He enjoyed searching for arrowheads, going antiquing and restoring antique furniture. He spent many hours volunteering with the local commodity distribution and loved doing so. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to others in need. Survivors include his parents, Andy and Lila Ferguson of Kahoka; his dear friend, Sherry Haage of Kahoka; three brothers, Joe Ferguson of Keokuk, Iowa, Dan Ferguson of Springfield, and Steve Ferguson of Metamora, Ill.; his nieces and nephews, Jessie Schoonover of Macomb, Ill., Sabrina Reeves of Hannibal, Sarina Graff of Panama City Beach, Fla., Steven and Michael Ferguson of Quincy, Joey and Nathan Ferguson of Warsaw, Ill., and Edwin Schoonover of Colchester, Ill.; his aunts and uncles, Lewis and Peggy Ferguson, and Linora Drummond and Audrey Andrews, all of Quincy, and Gilbert and Shirley Butler of Moscow Mills; and many cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Joanne Schoonover and Brenda Ferguson; and his grandparents, Clyde and Mabel Butler, and Andy and Mae Ferguson. SERVICES: 1 p.m. Monday in the Wilson Funeral Home, Kahoka, with Jeff Smith conducting. Burial will be in Kahoka Cemetery. VISITATION: 12-4 p.m. today and 11 a.m. until the service Monday in the funeral home. MEMORIALS: Clark County Food Pantry in lieu of flowers. WEB SITE: www.timeformemory.com/wilsonfh.
