Bernard Moline Obituary
Bernard (Bernie) D. Moline, age 82, of Quincy, IL, passed away June 30, 2021, in his home.
Mr. Moline was born April 9, 1939, in Fort Madison, IA, the son of Francis D. and Bernice (Willits) Moline. He married Roma J. Taylor on July 10, 1960, in Kahoka, MO. She survives.
Bernie graduated from Farmington High School (Farmington, IA) in 1956 and attended Gem City Business College in Quincy. He worked several different jobs before entering his 35-year career as a pattern maker. He retired from Gardner Denver-Cooper Industries LaGrange Foundry in 2002.
After retiring, Bernie's hobby was woodworking, making beautiful intricate pieces (bowls were his specialty). He enjoyed landscaping and took great pride in a beautifully kept lawn. Bernie was a very 'handy' guy and could fix just about anything. He loved spending quality time with family and friends and possessed a great sense of humor to all that knew him.
In addition to his wife, Roma, Bernie is survived by his four children: one daughter, Diahn Moline of Quincy; three sons, Douglas (Betsy) Moline of Willow Spring, NC; David (Evie) Moline of Cedar Rapids, IA; and Drew (Laurie) Moline of Quincy.
Nine grandchildren survive: Craig Moline of Houston, TX; Courtney Moline of Bettendorf, IA; Collin Moline of Mechanicsville, IA; Seth Moline of O'Fallon, IL; Emma Moline and Kyle Moline of Quincy, IL; Brandon (Stephany) Tanner of Lillington, NC; Renee (Akram) Darweesh of Willow Spring, NC; and Zach Tanner of Raleigh, NC. Also surviving are eight great grandchildren; one brother, Larry (Bev) Moline of Fort Collins, CO; and nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation rites will be accorded. In lieu of visitation and funeral services, the family will celebrate Bernie's life with a private family memorial service. Memorial contributions in Bernard's name are suggested to Blessing Hospice. You are invited to share your memories of Bernie and leave a condolence at www.dukerandhaugh.com.
