Brandon Stone Obituary

QUINCY -- Brandon Scott Stone, 32, of Quincy, died at 10:49 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, at Blessing Hospital.

Brandon was born Dec. 4, 1985, in Bryan, Texas, a son of Jimmie G. and Betty Freeman Stone. He married the love of his life, Alexandra "Allie" Stone, on June 8, 2018, in Quincy. She survives.

Brandon was a 2004 graduate of Quincy High School. He loved being a chef and his career saw him at various Quincy restaurants including One, Jorge the Crook's, Spring Lake Country Club, On the Rail and most recently at the Red Light Bar and Grill.

Brandon enjoyed playing video games, watching "The Office," and going fishing with his dad. He was a huge sports fan with an affinity for Texas teams, the Houston Astros, Dallas Cowboys, and the Texas A&M "Aggies." Brandon also enjoyed concerts, especially if he could see Tool, his favorite band.

Brandon's passion as a chef followed him home where he enjoyed dabbling with various recipes involving his meat smoker. He loved his "bird babies," a parakeet, Titan, and his cockatiel, Keenan. He was also quite fond of his dog, Bentley. Above all else, Brandon cherished spending time with his family and friends as they were the most important part of his life.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Allie, include his mother, Betty (Douglas Brunier) Stone of Quincy; a brother, Brian A. (Megan) Stone of Quincy; a sister, Leslie C. (Doug) Coleman of Quincy; four nieces and nephews, Sophia "Soapie" and Quentin Stone, and Nicholas and Alex Coleman; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Brandon was preceded in death by his father, Jimmie G. Stone, Jr., an uncle, Kenneth Stone, his grandmothers, Betty Kraatz and Mary Freeman, and his beloved dogs, Tequila and Buddy.

I just heard the news today of Brandon's passing today, now nearly 8 weeks back. He was a very special, genuine human being. I wish upon moving away, I'd made it back more frequently to have seen him. I was never crazy about making trips back to Quincy but he was one of a few people I'd do just that in order to see. I'll never forget drinking together and hanging out or discussing intricacies of the culinary arts. There will certainly never be anyone quite like him and that stands as an enormous loss for this world as a whole. RIP
