Sylvia Lee Weese

Sylvia Lee Gille Weese, age 79, passed away on March 11, 2026, at Intermountain Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on July 31, 1946, at St. Mary's Hospital in Quincy, Illinois, to Lester Paul and Alta Karine Gille, and was given the name Sylvia Lee Gille. She grew up in Quincy surrounded by the lively company of two brothers and four sisters and graduated from Quincy High School in 1965. In 1969, Sylvia married David Weese, and together they welcomed their daughter, Deanna Lee Weese, on March 7, 1970. After their divorce, Sylvia's life took a new and meaningful turn when she met her life partner, Daniel Schneiter, in 1978. With him, she welcomed her second daughter, Aubrey Lee Schneiter, on April 5, 1983. Sylvia lived with curiosity, creativity, and a deep appreciation for the world around her. She had a lifelong interest in holistic medicine, studying and working under Dan Malmstrom, and practiced massage therapy in her younger adult years. She found joy in floral design, cherished every opportunity to travel to the beach, and held a profound love for animals, nature, and the outdoors. Sylvia also loved to dance-if music was playing, she was the first to the floor and the last to leave it.

She is survived by her daughters Deanna Lee Weese and Aubrey Lee Schneiter, her chosen daughter Carla Jo Ann Kroneberger and Carla's husband Patrick Wayne Kroneberger. Her siblings Connie Sue Dobson, Lester Paul Gille ("sonny" as referred to by siblings), Dennis Michael Gille, and Peggy Jo Curran; her grandchildren Carly Citrus Card, Zachary Lee Weese, and Aiden Lee Weese; and her chosen grandchildren Carter Jon Kroneberger and Kelsey Kay Kroneberger. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester Paul Gille and Alta Karine Gille, and her sisters Patricia Gayles and Marilyn Foote, and life partner Daniel Schneiter. Sylvia may be no longer be with us, but our beautiful memories of her and with her, will forever remain in our hearts. She may be gone, but she will never be forgotten.
