Clayton W. Frost, age 82, of Quincy, died Monday, November 27, 2023, at 6:15 pm in his home.
Clayton was born March 3, 1941, in Ellsworth, Maine, the son of Wyman and Georgia Bernice Heath Frost. He married Edna Liedkie on June 17, 1967, in Bloomfield, NJ. She survives.
Clayton graduated from Maine Vocational Technical Institute with technical certification in telephony. He began his career in 9162 with AT&T in Andover, ME in satellite communications. He then moved to Newark, NJ where he worked in various positions within AT&T.
Clayton was a member of Gideon's International, and he was the president of the Quincy Camp. He was also a member of Telephone Pioneers of America.
Clayton and Edna are members of Columbus Road Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include three children: Timothy (Gayle) Frost of Bethlehem, GA; Carol (Steve) Baker of Quincy; and Daniel (Angie) Frost of Iowa City, IA; six grandchildren: Joshua and Jacob Frost, both of Bethlehem, GA; Addisyn Baker of Quincy; Lily Schwenk of Madison, WI; Autumn Frost of Iowa City, IA; and Scarlett Schwenk of Iowa City, IA; three sisters: Rachel Chamberlain of Hancock, ME; Florence French of Hancock, ME; and Lillian Leighton of Franklin, ME; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Clayton was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Frost.
Services: 11:00 am Friday, December 1, 2023, at Columbus Road Baptist Church, with Rev. Bob Cowman officiating.
Visitation: 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Thursday November 30, 2023, at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home and 10:00 - 11:00 a.m., Friday December 1, 2023, at Columbus Road Baptist Church.
Burial: Quincy Memorial Park, Quincy, Illinois with military funeral honors provided by American Legion Post 37 and the United States Army Funeral Honors Detail.
