Dear Mrs. Koch, I was deeply saddened to learn from my sister of Curtis's death in May. Mary and I knew the Koch family for most of our lives, as our mother and Carlene (and Odelia) worked together @
W. T. Grant's in Quincy. I have so many memories of Curtis, from childhood through early adult years. The earliest memory I have of him was his 6th birthday party at his grandmother's. Years later, we were friends and dated off and on. I last saw Curtis at the Quincy Mall in the mid-1980's, so that was a long time ago. I am very sorry for your loss, Mrs. Koch, and I send my sympathy. Charlie Koch died of a heart attack when in his 40's, and 56 seems too soon for Curtis to be gone. I wish that the two of you could have enjoyed your retirements together for a longer period of time. I hope that you have many wonderful memories of your years together, and I am so sorry for your great loss. Sincerely, Anne (Kratzer) Calvert Swarts

Carole,
I, too, am a classmate of Curtis's. My greatest memory is going to State and how happy everyone was. You have my deepest sympathy. Just know he was loved and will be remembered with lots of smiles.

Carole, please accept my sincerest condolences on your loss. I was deeply saddened to hear of Curtis' passing. I knew Curtis from our 8 years at St. Boniface school and 4 years of high school. The last time I saw him was at our 20 year high school reunion in 1990. I will always remember his great sense of humor and his blonde crew cut. God bless you and your family.

Carole,
Please accept my sincere sympathy during these trying times. I will always remember the intricacies of Curtis' way of keeping things hopping at the WRA. He was a bonafide professional and yet the greatest joker. Underneath those sometimes ruffled feathers was a gentle giant. Curtis is missed by many but leaves behind memories that we hold in our hearts forever. May he rest in peace. God bless you Carole.

Dear Carole:
I was truly sorry to hear about Curt's passing. Curt and I grew up together and spent most summers together during our grade school years. He lived across the alley from me. We were is scouts together and his parents included me in many family activities. When I think back on my childhood, Curt is always the first person that I remember! Curt was a very special person and I will always remember him fondly.

No words are sufficient to the moment but Curtis was more capable than anyone I've ever
known in his ability to bring a smile
and a laugh to my face. Friend and
teammate forever. Bless you man.

Dear Uncle Curtis,
When you magically changed our Auntie Carole into Carole B’darole, you also changed our lives: nearly 8,000 days overflowing with laughter, grins, silliness, inventions, adventures, listening, and understanding. We’ll follow your lead and take it from here!

Love always,
Julie, Jenny, Janice, and Jaclyn

Dear Ms. Carol,
I am so sorry about Curtis. He was a great neighbor to us and a great person. He was a great friend to my dad, and I really appreciate that. Curtis and my dad would always garden and talk about his boat, he really made my dad happy. I loved the springtime when I would come out and see Curtis working on his boat. He would always be so nice to me and he treated me so well. I remember telling my friends, "Look at that house, that guy is an FBI agent and he's my friend!" (They were all shocked) I was in a tennis tournament this weekend, and once I heard about Curtis, I played my hardest, my strongest and my best and I took second place. Even though I didn't win in the finals, I gave it my all in honor of you and Curtis, and your families. Curtis was a great guy and we will miss him very, very much.
Sincerely, Mary Beth King

Carol,
Mary and I are so sorry for you and the rest of your family. Curtis and I were grade school and high school classmates, teammates, and friends for those twelve formative years of our lives. We loved him even though we had lost contact with each other since our high school graduation in 1970. We followed him from afar and were so proud of his accomplishments with the FBI for these past thirty years. Hal Smith

CAROL, WE ARE SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. WE SO LOVED HAVING YOU AND CURT TO OUR HOME AT THANKSGIVING. CURT DID SUCH A BEAUTIFUL JOB AT OUR CRIMESTOPPER CONVENTION. EVERYONE FELL IN LOVE WITH HIM. HE SPOKE SO ELOQUENTLY AND AS IF HE WAS ONLY SPEAKING TO THEM. LETS JUST SAY HE WAS A HIT. MY DAUGHTERS HUSBAND TODD WAGNER PLAYED GOLF WITH CURT AS WELL AS TWO OTHERS OF OUR CRIMESTOPPER BOARD MEMBERS. TODD SAID HE WAS SO NICE TO BRANDON WHO NEVER PLAYED BEFORE NOW BRANDON THINKS HE WANTS TO TAKE UP GOLF. CURT SHOULD BE PROUD! I AM SO GLAD I WAS ABLE TO SEE CURT IN MAY AND JUST WANTED TO SAY HE TOUCHED MY FAMILIES LIFE IN THE MOST PRECIOUS WAY BY GIVING OF HIS TIME. A BIG THANK YOU TO YOU CAROL FOR ALLOWING HIM THE TIME AWAY FROM HOME TO HELP US THROUGH GIL'S SICKNESS. HE WILL BE MISSED BY ALL OF US AND WE WILL ALWAYS HAVE ROOM FOR YOU IN OUR FAMILY AND I DO HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON. I PRAY GOD GIVES YOU THE STRENGTH EVERY DAY TO GET UP EVERY DAY AND WALK THIS DIFFICULT PATH . PHILIPPIANS 4:13 "I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME".
ALL OUR LOVE AND PRAYERS....LAURA AND MARK GOEHL 6-2-08
