Daniel BOHAN Obituary

Daniel "Dan" Thomas Bohan, 50, of Huntsville, Texas, formerly of Quincy, died Saturday (June 5, 2010) in Texas. He was born Jan. 14, 1960, in Belvidere, to Thomas James and Nancy Lou Bohan. He was raised in a devout Catholic home and attended parochial schools most of his life until graduating from Quincy Senior High School in 1978. All through his high school years, Dan worked odd jobs to save money to travel the world as a percussionist with The Phantom Regiment of Drum Corps International. During his four years in Drum Corps, he won three national championships. His musical talent led to a music scholarship in Huntsville, Texas at Sam Houston State University, where he played in the marching band. Dan met his wife, Billie Jean Burleson-Bohan, while attending Sam Houston State and the two married on March 16, 1983. He graduated in 1986 with a bachelor's degree in psychology and a double minor in music and chemistry. He and his family moved to Houston and Dan attended the University of Houston Pharmacy School, from where he graduated in 1990 and he and the family moved back to Huntsville. Dan worked as a pharmacist for 20 years at Huntsville and Trinity, Texas, having worked for Walgreen's as well as CVS. His hobbies were working on the farm and taking care of his numerous animals, but his true passion was his family. He was lovingly known to many as "Dr. Dan," "Farmer Dan," "Daddy Dan," "Donnie," and "Dan the Man." On March 16, 2008, Dan and Billie Jean celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary and renewed their vows at their home. Dan had blessed life and touched the lives of many. He is survived by his wife of 27 years Billie Jean; two daughters, Calicia and Castyn; a son, Clayton and his wife, Laci Boley-Bohan; his parents, Thomas and Nancy Bohan of Quincy; his mother-in-law, Ophelia Burleson; his twin brother, David Bohan and wife, Lisa, and their children, Dalton, Lanessa, Lexanna, and Libby; his sister, Patricia Coates and her husband, Jim Coates, and their children, Nolan and Jared; his sister, Mary Chapel and husband, Don, of Quincy, and children, Jessica, Justina, Janine, Jordan and Joseph; his sister, Cathy and her children, William, Casey and Austin; his sister, Virginia Frese, and her fiancé, Darren Fierge, of Quincy, and her children, Grace and Gavin, and his youngest brother, James "Jimmy" Bohan. SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Thursday in First Presbyterian Church in Huntsville. Following the service interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Livingston, Texas.
