It is with great sadness we announce the unexpected passing of David Kent Fox, age 73, of Quincy, IL, on Friday, November 26, 2021.
Kent was born in Keokuk, Iowa to David "Bud" and Charlotte (Cannon) Fox of rural Alexandria, MO. Kent graduated from Canton High School and attended Southeastern Community College before joining the military. He married Joyce "Lynne" Evans on October 12, 1974 in Keokuk, Iowa. She preceded him in death on October 5, 2018.
He served in Vietnam as an MP in DaNang. He worked for many years as the plant superintendent of Stone Container and retired from Little Jess Jeep. Kent was a very active member of Faith Presbyterian and a 30+ year member of the Alexandria Gun Club where he served as President for several years. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting.
Kent coached soccer for many years and was an avid and active follower of every sport and activity of all of his kids and grandkids.
Kent is survived by his children: David Todd (Stephanie) Fox, Rhonda (John) Holt, and Kurt (Dawn) Fox; his brother, Kevin (Paula) Fox, grandchildren, Carter, Madison, Quinlan, Brecken, Ellison Kate, and Lukas; niece, Amanda (Colin) McCreedy, and great nephew McCabe.
In addition to his wife, Kent was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation: 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Faith Presbyterian Church, with the family conducting the service.
Burial: 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Sand Cemetery, St. Francisville, Missouri.
