David Jones Obituary
David Lee Jones, 76, of Carthage, Ill., passed away at 5:00 P.M. Monday, November 8, 2021, at the Illinois Veteran's Home in Quincy, Illinois.
David was born June 30, 1945, the son of William and Nellie Marie (Blankenship) Jones in Keokuk, Iowa. He graduated from Keokuk High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1966 until his Honorable Discharge in 1968. On June 21, 1987, he was united in marriage to Janice Kay Jones in Carthage. She preceded him in death in 2012. Dave had worked many years for Master Guard Fire Protection and later was self-employed as a painter.
Dave is survived by two sons, Mike Jones of Ft. Madison and Doug Jones of Carthage; one grandchild, Bradi Jones of Ft. Madison; and a sister, Bertha Newman of Quincy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janice; and three sisters, Betty, Sue and Janet.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Printy Funeral in Carthage with burial to follow in Moss Ridge Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Monday evening at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage. Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
