Terry G. Allen

Terry Gene Allen, 83 of Fort Madison Iowa passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, February 26, 2026.

Terry was born on December 1st 1942 in Keokuk Iowa to the Parents of George and Catherine Lally Allen.

After graduating from Keokuk High School, he married Rita Schevers and together they had three children, Dawn, Matt and Lea; Terry and Rita later divorced. Terry spent most of his working life at the Dial Corporation where he retired. During that time, he met Jackie McKenzie and they were married in 1995; Jackie passed away on May 3, 2018. Terry enjoyed being outside whether it was in a chair soaking up the sun, fishing from a pier in Panama City Beach or a honey hole in a northern Iowa trout stream. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, wildlife, mushrooms and canoeing on any given midwestern river. He also liked to travel with Jackie to many different locations here and abroad.

Terry is survived by his daughter Dawn (Andy) Hawes of Burlington IA, his son Matt (Candi) Allen of Gulf Breeze Fl, Jackie's sons Ryan (Shannon) McKenzie of Ft Madison, Pete McKenzie of Fort Madison. His sister Kathy Royer of Hollister, Missouri. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Elicia (Ryan)Dopler, Dylan (Julia) Bowen , Aury Winn, Tyler McKenzie and Brody McKenzie, Misty Nolan and Brandy Bowen. Also surviving are great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death are his parents, wife Jackie, brother Jim Allen, daughter Lea Bowen and several nephews.

Cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory from 4-6 PM.
