Donald Trautvetter Obituary

QUINCY -- Donald E. Trautvetter, 84, of Quincy, passed away Friday, April 7, 2017, at North Adams Home in Mendon.

Donald was born Dec. 27, 1932, in Stillwell, to the late Carl "Babe" and Celia Adair Trautvetter. He married Carol Maxine Thompson on Dec. 22, 1950. She preceded him in death on Oct. 27, 2003.

Donald worked for Moorman's for more than 34 years. He was a member of the Avion Trailer Club and enjoyed going to rodeos, roping, riding horses, traveling in his motor home and wintering in Queen Creek, Ariz., and he was a huge John Wayne fan. He loved his two horses, Prince and Blue.

Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Nancy Trautvetter of Lisle; one grandson, Kyle Matthew Trautvetter of Lombard; one stepgrandson, Vito Lantz Jr. of Rhode Island; and his companion, Patsy Rarick of Quincy.

He was preceded in death by his son, Rodney Eugene Trautvetter.

SERVICES: Graveside services will be noon Thursday, April 13, in New Loraine Cemetery in Loraine, with the Rev. Henry Pratt conducting.

MEMORIALS: Faith Journey Church in Quincy.

ARRANGEMENTS: Hunter Funeral Home in Mendon.

So sorry to hear of Don's passing. I grew up camping with Don and his family. My parents were very fond of Don and had many good times with him and his family over the years camping and wintering in Arizona.
