Evelyn Althoff Obituary

Evelyn E. Althoff, 80, of 1308 Spring Lake Hills, Apt. 1, Quincy, died at 8:35 p.m. Monday (April 2, 2012) in Blessing Hospital.

She was born July 12, 1931, in Edina, Mo., a daughter of Ellis Lee and Irene Grace Eyler Little. On July 27, 1952, she married Lawrence E. Althoff in Luther Memorial Church. He died on Sept. 1, 2001.

She was department manager at Moorman Manufacturing Co. from Aug. 16, 1949 to Nov. 28, 1983 when she retired, and she was a member of Lutheran Church of St. John.

Survivors include a niece, Candace Mowen of Quincy; a nephew, Charles William Little Jr. and his wife, Rita, of Lima; a great-nephew, Charles William Little III and a great-niece, Regan Little, both of Lima; and two sisters-in-law, Alene Althoff of Quincy, and Frieda Wittler of Charleston, S.C.

In addition to her husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Charles William Little; and a brother-in-law, Melvin Althoff.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Friday in the Lutheran Church of St. John, with the Rev. Harold Bender officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery.

VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.

When I worked at Bergner's Evelyn would stop by while on her walk through the mall. She ALWAYS said hello and took time to talk to me. She was a beautiful person and always had a smile and a word of encouragement.
