Gail Veile, age 72, of Quincy, died Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at 1:28 am in Blessing Hospital.
Gail was born October 28, 1949 in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Harvey and Rita Beer Gower. She married Leroy J. Veile in Quincy. He survives.
Gail had been the owner and operator of the Four Seasons Tanning Salon, formerly the Reflections Tanning Salon, in Quincy for over 15 years. Gail will always be remembered as a colorful woman who loved joking around with her friends and family.
In her spare time, Gail enjoyed going for drives and spending time with her cats. She also liked gambling, playing cards, and visiting local restaurants. Gail never knew a stranger, and loved making crafts and ceramics. Gail was an avid fan of Western movies and television shows. She loved spending time with her family and spoiling her kids and grandkids.
In addition to her husband, Leroy, survivors include three children: Lisa (Dr. Jeffrey) Horvath of Springfield, IL; Michelle (Brian) Hankins of Quincy; and Daniel (Carrie) Veile of Quincy; six grandchildren: Ana and Andrew West; Brooke and Brock Hankins; and Taylor and Madison Veile; two great-grandchildren: Bailey and Brendan; her brother, Dean (Carla) Gower of Monticello, MO; her sister, Janet (Don) Benjamin of Payson, IL; her sister-in-law, Peggy Gower; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Joe and Jerry Gower.
The family would like to express a big thank you to Bobette Homan for all her help with Gail. She really loved spending time with you and it just always made her day. I'm sure that it didn't have anything to do with food or gambling though.
