Joan Elizabeth (Eaton) Frericks, 90, of Quincy, IL, passed away at 10:07 am Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
A Graveside Service will be at 10:00 am Friday, September 15, 2023, at Greenmount Cemetery in Quincy. Rev. Tim Woodard will officiate.
The family is being served by the O'Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home in Quincy.
Joan was born June 11, 1933, in Runcorn, Cheshire, England to David and Doris (Molyneax) Faulkner.
She was married to Hedley John Eaton of Quincy, IL on August 25, 1952, in England. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include her two sons, John Eaton (Melinda) of Clarinda, IA and Tony Eaton (Debbie) of Quincy, IL; six grandchildren, Brian Eaton (Tiffaney) of Quincy, IL, Erin Pape of Davenport, IA, Eric Whitney (Natalie) of Omaha, NE, and Chad Eaton, Greg Eaton (Lacey), and Sarah Eaton, all of Quincy, IL; 12 great-grandchildren, MJ, Kensen, Rinsley, Payten, Cooper, Gavin, Charlotte, Alec, Mady, Collin, Jaxon, and Cole; and her sister, Diane Estupe.
In addition to her husband, Joan was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Colin Faulkner of England.
Joan worked as a case manager of a group home. She was also an alcohol counselor. Before retirement, she was a counselor at Consumer Credit Counseling.
When she was able, she loved traveling back to England to visit her family. She also liked to meet up once a month with other women from England who lived in Quincy. In her spare time, she loved reading, watching The 700 Club, following world politics, and watching the Kentucky Derby. She also made a point to eat at Fatback's every Friday night. Most of all, Joan loved spending time with her family, who will deeply miss her.
Pallbearers will be John, Tony, Brian, Chad, and Greg Eaton, and Eric Whitney.
Memorial contributions may be made to Blessing Hospice.
